Demetrios Zacharopoulos is an accomplished trial attorney with extensive experience in asbestos and complex toxic tort litigation. As the first-chair trial attorney, he led the litigation of asbestos cases, playing a central role in strategy, case development, and trial execution. He also served as the firm’s Asbestos Litigation Manager, overseeing the entire asbestos practice, supervising junior partners and associates, and negotiating settlements with opposing counsel.
Over the course of his career, he has managed all facets of complex toxic tort cases involving asbestos exposure, from inception through trial, in both federal and state courts. He has taken and defended hundreds of depositions, including those of clients, experts, and corporate representatives, and has secured several multi-million-dollar verdicts as first or second chair in jury trials across the United States.
Earlier in his career, he worked on federal and state appellate matters, contributing to the drafting of appellate briefs, motions, and legal memoranda. He has represented clients before Maryland’s trial and appellate courts as well as multiple administrative agencies.
