Joseph Belluck selected to City and State NY Law Power 100 alongside local officials like Chief Judge Wilson and other key legal figures

Joseph W. Belluck, Esq., the founding partner of Belluck Law, LLP, has been selected for the City & State New York’s Law Power 100 list top legal professionals in the region. City & State NY’s Law Power 100 highlights key figures in New York’s legal sphere, including presidential appointees and local officials like Chief Judge Wilson, as well as other high-profile attorneys, leading advocates and distinguished academics.
Mr. Belluck’s accomplishments, expertise, and compassion in representing victims of asbestos exposure who develop mesothelioma, and also his generosity and community leadership efforts in judicial ethics, higher education, cannabis policy, and many nonprofit causes have earned him a spot on this prestigious list.
Joe Belluck’s career spans over three decades beginning with his representation of the State of New York in its litigation against the tobacco industry. His efforts forced the Big Tobacco to cease sponsoring fraudulent scientific research and to discontinue advertising their products on billboards in the state of New York.
Representation of asbestos victims followed and in the early 2000s he founded the firm that would eventually become Belluck Law, LLP, an award-winning, national asbestos litigation firm. To date, Belluck Law has obtained over $1 billion in compensation for its asbestos and personal injury clients.
In 2008, Mr. Belluck was appointed to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct and was elected chair of the commission in 2017. He was recently reappointed for a second term by NY Gov. Hochul.
Since 2010, Mr. Belluck has also been a trustee of The State University of New York (SUNY) which oversees all 64 campuses of the SUNY system and chairs the state Cannabis Advisory Board.
A dedicated supporter of various causes, Mr. Belluck champions health and research initiatives, youth organizations, and domestic violence prevention efforts. He is a major contributor to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation through which it helps fund peer-reviewed mesothelioma research; helps pay for patient support services; and helps provide education to patients about treatment options.
