Michael A. Macrides

Associate at Belluck Law

Dedicated and tenacious representation of our clients.

As the son of a union teamster, I see a lot of my family in the clients that we represent. People who suffer serious injuries deserve attorneys who fight to make them whole. Whether representing clients who suffer from asbestos-related cancers or any other serious injuries, I come into work each day ready to help them receive compensation for the harms they suffered.

Michael Macrides is an attorney in the motion and appellate practice at Belluck Law, LLP.

Over the course of the past 15 years at Belluck Law, Michael has briefed and argued thousands of cases and achieved countless favorable results for his clients who suffer from mesothelioma, lung cancer, and other serious injuries. Those include hundreds of successful outcomes in the trial courts, in addition to winning appeals in each of the New York’s four Appellate Divisions.

Michael was named a Rising Star for the Metropolitan New York area in 2018, and a SuperLawyer from 2024 to 2026 in recognition of his successful representation of his clients.

In addition to representing clients who suffered asbestos-related injuries like mesothelioma and lung cancer, Michael has also represented victims of childhood sexual abuse, workplace gender discrimination, construction accidents, and other serious injuries.

For example, in McInnis v. A.O. Smith Water Prods [The William Powell Company] (2026 WL 1112266 (4th Dept., 2026)), Michael obtained a reversal of the grant of summary judgment on the grounds of lack of personal jurisdiction, permitting the case to proceed in New York where the plaintiff was exposed to asbestos from valve repairs while working as a steamfitter.

Michael also obtained a reversal of the grant of summary judgment by the Third Department in a case brought by an Ulster County employee who faced gender discrimination, a hostile work environment, and retaliation claims in Mikesh v. Cnty. of Ulster, 237 A.D.3d 1285 (3d Dept., 2025).

In a pair of cases involving the sexual abuse of young girls on their elementary school bus by an older classmate, Michael successfully obtained a reversal from the Fourth Department allowing their negligent supervisions claims against the school district to proceed in Porschia C. by Melissa A.C. v. Sodus Cent. Sch. Dist. (231 A.D.3d 1520 (4th Dept., 2024)) and Porschia C. by Melissa A.C. v. Sodus Cent. Sch. Dist. (239 A.D.3d 1472 (4th Dept., 2025)).

In Velazquez v. Cnty. of Westchester (237 A.D.3d 1137 (2d Dept., 2025)), the Second Department agreed with Michael’s arguments that the County of Westchester had failed to demonstrate that it did not create a hazardous condition at its train station, allowing an unsafe premises claim to proceed.

Michael also successfully appealed the grant of summary judgment in Venegas v. Signh, 103 A.D.3d 562 ((1st Dept., 2013)), where his client was seriously injured after being struck by a taxi while crossing the street.

Prior to joining Belluck Law, Michael spent several years as a law clerk for a Justice of the Supreme Court, Appellate Term, where he worked on hundreds of appeals and trial-level cases, was exposed to the inner workings of courts, and gained invaluable insight into winning legal strategies.

Michael has previously participated in the Long Beach Polar Bears Superbowl Splash, raising thousands of dollars for children with critical illnesses through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys surfing and riding his bicycle on the boardwalk in Long Beach, New York where he lives with his wife and daughter.
